#90 – YPT’s One Thing Leads to Another

So despite my absolute lack of blogging, we’ve been hard at work on our 2016 list.  #90 is our first flex spot; Young People’s Theatre’s new work One Thing Leads to Another.  It’s a very special performance designed for babies age 6-24 months.  I’m excited about this for so many reasons and wanted to post about it before the run ends (on February 21!) and spread the good word!

The show is 30 minutes, 3 performers, and has no dialogue.  It’s incredibly well thought out and developed, without being complicated or gimmicky.  After the performance, the audience is invited onto the stage to interact with the performers, props and set.  The performers were lovely, and I especially appreciate the time they spent before and after the show introducing themselves to the parents and chatting about the work and the experience for the babies.

It’s so hard to find programming for this age group, and even harder to find quality programming.  I am passionate about arts experiences for children and feel so strongly about the importance of the arts.  It was so exciting to experience this with Henry and watch him take it all in.

#90---YPT

Details: Information about YPT and their entire season can be found here.  One Thing Leads to Another runs until February 21.  They are also celebrating their 50th Season, so those care givers with older children should check out their other programming!
