Around Toronto: Biblio-Mat Fanatic Day

Back in January 2013, at the start of our 100 Things quest, we got a book from The Monkey’s Paw Biblio-Mat; a book vending machine that shoots out random and quirky books for $2.

There is a gent here in Toronto who has got a new and random book every week for the last year, read them and wrote reviews on them.  He also blogged all about it here.  The Monkey’s Paw is celebrating this brave man by declaring Sunday, January 19th as Biblio-Mat Fanatic Day and having a cocktail party at the store in his honour.  Details about the event can be found here.

#50 – Get Toronto Library cards

Adam has lived in Toronto for 6 years, and I’ve lived here for 11, and neither of us have ever had Toronto Library cards.  We decided to end our shame this year, and on the list it went.

Details:  All residents of Toronto can get their free Library card by bringing valid ID with their home address to any branch.  No ID, no problem.  Just go in and they will send you a postcard by mail, once received that can be brought in as proof of residency.

#22 – Read a book together

We read The BFG by Roald Dahl together, which we chose after a lot of debate over finding a book we would both enjoy.  Can’t go wrong with Dahl.
