#77 – Do the Colo(u)r Run 5K

This is what I’ve been looking forward to the most off our list.   The Color Run (feels wrong without that “u” in there!) was on my Bucket List long before we had a 100 Things list.

So with three of our favourite people, we drove down to Buffalo for the weekend and along with 10,000 other people, ran what truly is the happiest 5K on the planet.

Details; The Color Run website can be found here; locations, race dates, photos and an online store.  They have races all over the States and this year have added five Canadian locations (as well as locations across South America, Europe and South Africa).  You can vote to add your city, so if you don’t see your hometown on there, get voting!

We were so impressed with the organization of the event, the volunteers and the overall experience, we’re considering adding it back on our list for next year!

Bonus #5 – Go to New York

I’ve never been to New York; Adam’s been many times.  It’s always been on my Bucket List, and Adam and I have been talking about going together for ages.

So when I unexpectedly had a weekend off at the same time as Porter was having a flights sale we spontaneously booked flights for a whirlwind 36 hours in New York.

To say I’m in love with the city sounds cliché, but man, is it ever true.  We did and saw so much, and yet saw nothing; there is so much more for us to see and do the next time we can get there.

#15 – Go to a museum

We recently took an impromptu weekend trip to New York (bonus post here!) and decided to knock #15 off the list while we were there.  With so many options, it was hard to pick a museum, but in the end, went with the American Museum of Natural History.  Image

#37 – Try 5 new fruit beers

I have a serious thing for cherry beer, but it can be difficult to find in Toronto, so Adam challenged me to try five new fruit beers.

Now that it’s summer, fruit beer seems to be everywhere, so we crushed this one, with seven new beers at this point.  Our favourites were the two watermelons and the Bar Harbor Blueberry.Image

Details: (top to bottom) Frambozen from Mill Street Brewery (Toronto)
Fruitstand Watermelon Wheat from Kensington Brewing Company (Toronto) enjoyed at Two Bite Saloon in Toronto
Hell or High Watermelon Wheat from 21st Amendment Brewery (San Francisco) enjoyed at Pod 39’s rooftop lounge in NYC
Bar Harbor Blueberry from Atlantic Brewing Company (Bar Harbour, Maine) enjoyed at Alphabet City Beer Co. in NYC
Strawberry Harvest Lager from Abita (Abita Springs, LA) bought from the Alphabet City Beer Co. in NYC
Apricot Wheat Ale from St-Ambroise (Montreal) enjoyed at the Victory Cafe in Toronto (also available at the LCBO)
Blueberry Ale from Blue Point Brewing Company (Long Island) enjoyed at The Frying Pan in NYC.
